US Pharma Lab Selected For and Completed Natural Products Association Supplement Safety and Compliance Initiative Pilot Audit
The Natural Products Association (NPA), together with some of the largest retailers of natural products and supplements (GNC, Walmart, Whole Foods, and Vitamin Shoppe), launched the Supplement Safety and Compliance Initiative in 2017 as a way to streamline safety and authenticity standards that currently exist in the industry.
The pilot audits, conducted at US Pharma Lab, Nature’s Way, and GNC Nutra, helped identify the discrepancies between different auditors. The next steps will be to use the data towards developing more consistent benchmark standards and auditing tools.
